Bobby Jindal is Disingenuous

I guess it is not all bad that some Republican Governors believe so strongly in what they believe that, in the midst of an economic crisis they are willing to turn down money because it is a round rescue package that won't fit into their square hole ideology. Of course, the people targeted to benefit from the money are not the Republican Governors, but the people that they govern. It is one thing to say, "I won't let you help me, because I believe capitalism will fix itself.." It is another thing to say, "I don't want you to help other people in my state, because I believe capitalism will fix itself ." These Governors are turning down money that is given to help struggling desperate people in their own states.
Imagine your house is on fire, the fire department has been called, but just before they get to your house, the mayor blocks the street and say, "Mr. Fire Chief, our fire department is targeted to receive stimulus money, I don't agree with that, so we're going to let that house burn to the ground." This scenario is ridiculous, but it is somewhat like what some of these Republicans are saying they are doing (or considering doing.)
Why? It can't just be that the money is tax money. It can't be that it is tax money that may have come from borrowing, or inflationary acts. I say it can't be, because these Republican Governors are paid with that same money. The lights are on at the Governor's mansion, and their Capital office and the utilities are paid with tax money. If these Republican Governors are willing to accept tax money sometimes, what is their objection to accepting it this time?
Answer? Strings.
"We'll have to review each program, each new dollar to make sure that we understand what are the conditions, what are the strings. . ." said Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, a potential 2012 GOP presidential candidate. Governor Jindal has suggested his state may not be interested in all of the roughly $4 billion allotted to it in the economic stimulus package because it might come with strings, another word for regulations, and conditions.
Texas Governor Rick Perry said, "My concern is there's going to be commitments attached to it that are a mile long. We need the freedom to pick and choose. And we need the freedom to say 'No thanks."
The objection is especially disingenuous coming from Governor Jindal, who lives in a state devastated by Hurricane Katrina. The fact is, that while serving in Congress this same Bobby Jindal attacked the Bush administration for not sending MORE money to his state in response to Hurricanes Katrina.
Now what is different? Do the people of his state need help when they are in a crisis caused by weather, but those same people need no help when they suffer from a crisis caused by a recession. A crisis is a crisis. Suffering always deserves our effort to ease the pain.

Piyush Jindal, better known as Bobby, is genuine. He is genuinely seeking donations to his, "I want to be the next president" fund.He has not addressed the 120 Thousand Unemployed Workers in Louisiana. However, he is very good at getting in front of a Video Camera and spouting how he detests sex offenders and how he is working very hard at passing new and unique laws to Punish Sex Offenders.... I have a question... Jindal has been seen in the company of Louisiana State Senator David Vitter on occasions where he speaks... This man, David Vitter apologized on national tv for being found to have his name on a Madam of Prostitutes List of Clients... does that qualify as a Sex Offender? If so, Bobby Piyush Jinday wants to move sex offenders to the state prison, Angola. My question, does Bobby Piyush Jindal want to move Senator David Vitter to Angola Prison?
