When I was young: Here comes another story
3

“When I was young. . .” The more I consider the phrase the more reason I find for being delighted by the words. First, when I hear the phrase, “When I was young. . .” it is a signal that a story is coming, and I love stories. One of the most delightful aspects of life, comes from our stories. Obviously not every story is a great story, but if you are awed... (posted by Tex 82 days 15 hours ago.)
Yeah, Sure, I'm Fabulous
2

The word fab·u·lous comes from the Latin word fabulosus , which, in turn comes from another Latin word fibula . In our language the word first showed up in Middle English in the 15 th Century. You will notice the kernel word of Fabulous is fibula and fibula is also where we get our word fable . The first and second definitions given by my online Merriam-Webster Dictionary is as... I read somewhere that if you hit a tuning fork tuned to a particular... (posted by Tex 111 days 15 hours ago.)
Create A College Poem

I started doing something new. It is only new to me, of course. I consider myself both a writer and an artist. This new thing combines both loves. I call it collage poems. I start by finding words and phrases. This is not a ransom note. I’m not cutting out letters because then the words would be my words. I’m lifting words out of context and arranging them into a new context. I went by the half price book store and... (posted by Tex 118 days 23 hours ago.)
The Catcher of the READ

As a child I was slow to read and horrible at writing. My spelling was, and is terrible. School and reading were not really that important at home. My parents thought I could draw and paint pretty good, but they thought I was stupid in every other area, especially reading. I remember once watching a lawyer show on TV. I was maybe 11 or 12 years old. I told my dad, “I think I’d like to be a lawyer.” He said... (posted by Tex 118 days 23 hours ago.)
